Environmental monitors and data loggers for museums, art galleries
etc
For many years it has been recognised that one of the major
causes of damage to museum objects and other antiquities is the fading and
rotting effect of light on the object. The most damaging part of the
illumination is its ultraviolet (UV) content. Since 1976 we have been providing
instruments that enable the conservator to measure the UV content of light and
thereby protect valuable exhibits. Our type 760 is mentioned in all the early
literature on this subject, this was succeeded by the 762, the 763 and the
current model the 764 environmental monitor, this
measures UV, lux, humidity and temperature and will log up to 10,900 readings
for later transfer to a computer by infrared link.
Universal Light meter
The 774,
based on the 764, that measures 3 diferent types of light/radiation: Thermal
radiation (infrared), visible light (Lux) and Ultraviolet (UV). Temperature is
also measured.
Underwater Metal Detectors
ELSEC developed one of the
first pulse induction metal detectors in the 60s. We now make the type
2000, an advanced underwater model for professional
divers.
Thermoluminescence and OSL (Optically Stimulated Luminescence)
Dating Equipment
ELSEC has built TL dating equipment since the
early 1970s. Our current models are the 7188 thermoluminescence Dating System
and the 9010 OSL system. This equipment is used for the dating of pottery and
sand deposits.
Proton Magnetometers
ELSEC developed the proton
magnetometer for geophysical and industrial uses, including the type
7706 for marine use.
